This Festschrift is addressed to all those persons interested in what J. Harold Greenlee has exemplified so well through forty-five years of teaching and writing: vivere et studere ad maiorem Dei gloriam. It would be difficult to imagine one in whom the erudition of the university and the gentleness of the Spirit more closely cohere than in the life and ministry of this true doctor of the church. A prolific writer, both for the academy and the church, Greenlee has also spent many years serving as a consultant to the Wycliffe Bible Translators. He is an ordained minister of the United Methodist Church.
